£23,050 grant awarded for Hayle RFU to replace its Floodlight System. The benefits have been threefold (i) Energy costs have reduced due to the new system being more efficient which is of great benefit when energy costs are increasing and finances are tight. (ii) The new lights in the training area have made winter training more flexible with less pressure on other pitches easing waterlogging. (iii) Floodlights are safe and future proof, replacements less frequent enabling the club to share pitches and facilities with other clubs, groups and organisations.
“Training and playing matches under the lights is really important for a winter sport, thank you for providing the money to help us continue to do that” Player
“We are very grateful to the Gwinear Gwithian Sustainable Community Fund for providing us with a grant which has enabled us to upgrade our floodlights to safer, more sustainable and energy saving alternatives. The cost saving will be very welcome in the current economic climate! We wouldn’t have been able to carry out this project without the grant – thank you!” Committee Member
“We love coming to watch the matches and it’s been great to see the new lights in action tonight. Also, to see the young ones training on the top pitch and so many of them too! They’re the future of the club!” Spectator
